Using bubble insulation reduces your heating bills by retaining heat – Insulating your greenhouse will help to keep an unheated greenhouse frost free and will greatly reduce fuel consumption in heated greenhouses, saving approximately 30% on heating costs over the winter period.
You can use standard packaging bubble wrap which is much cheaper but you will this breaks down very easily after being exposed to prolonged periods of sunlight. Our bubble insulation is made from a high grade plastic with Ultra Violet Light inhibitors which reduce the breakdown and discolouration caused by Ultra Violet rays.
We supply two types -: both which can be used for standard 8 x 6 greenhouses and is UV inhibited It is manufactured from a three ply ( Tri-laminate) polythene, meaning two sealed outer layers with one inner layer which creates the inner bubble lining giving a flat surface on both outer sheets. Both types can be supplied either pre cut lengths or per meter.
Large cell: 25mm (used mainly by commercial growers due to its higher resistance and heat efficiency)
Small Cell: 10mm (Used generally for standard 8 x 6 greenhouse’s and smaller)
Fitting Bubble Insulation:
Fitting bubble insulation is pretty easy, by clicking the high lighted text link above, you will be directed to the Gardeners world advice page where they give basic fitting advice. It is much easier and less fiddley if you use proper fittings such as the aliplugs or snapkaps rather than wire as they suggest but the option is yours.
